Meet LOMBARD MATSHINGE, a talented vocalist, songwriter, instrumentalist and minister of the word. With the popularity of Venda on the rise, LOMBARD MATSHINGE is a refreshing new edition to the genre who separates himself form competition by his international appeal.
LOMBARD MATSHINGE got born again in 1995 at Lighthouse Christian Church. Soon after, he started playing drums, moving to piano before trying his hand at singing. In 2003, he relocated to Johannesburg, and joined Winners Chappel Johannesburg as a worship leader and a percussionist playing Conga Drums. In 2006 he released his debut album UYA MANGADZA which was produced by Gabriel “The Great” Tshisikule and started touring internationally securing performances alongside gospel greats Benjamin Dube, James Okon, and Uche to mention a few. Teaming up with Gabriel “The Great” again he later released NDO MUNANGA in 2008.
On the 7th of August 2016, LOMBARD MATSHINGE recorded his first live DVD at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City. This landmark event was attended by government delegates, actor Joe Mafela, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo and Pastor K Rathando to mention a few.
With his double-CD album SCALING NEW HEIGHTS receiving warm reception from fans and radio stations across Africa, LOMBARD MATSHINGE is set to become a powerhouse within the gospel genre. Remember the name: LOMBARD MATSHINGE.
